Roommate, 53rd Annual Nominee NAACP Image Award Just announced that some of the biggest names in entertainment have been recognized for their work highlighting #BlackExcellence over the past year!
In the NAACP Image Awards Nominees include, Denzel Washington, Jennifer Hudson, “Not Safe,” She, Lara Anthony, Drake, Will Smith, Angela Bassett, Daniel Kaluuya, “They Fall Harder” and more. Meanwhile, Grammy-winning artist HER and the final season of the critically acclaimed Netflix film The Harder They Fall both received the most nominations.
Netflix leads all platforms with multiple nominations in the film and TV categories. Regina King’s film “They Fall Harder” and HBO’s “Insecure” tied for the most nominations, with 12 each. Additionally, HER is the most nominated music artist with six nominations.
Rounding out the nominations is the event’s biggest Entertainer of the Year award, with Jennifer Hudson, Regina King, Lil Nas X, Megan West Stallion and Tiffany Haddish pitted against each other.
Seven-time NAACP Image Award winner Anthony Anderson will announce the winners on February 26. Coverage begins with a two-hour live TV special on BET at 8:00pm ET/PT. Again, due to COVID-19, the awards ceremony will be held without a live audience.
Speaking of this year’s nominations, Karen Boykins-Towns, chair of the Imaging Awards Committee, said: “We are delighted to recognize this year’s nominees through their work in film, television, music and more.”
