“The Entertainer” was billed as Brown’s most personal and emotional show to date, revolving around themes such as how life’s difficulties bring people together and living mindfully. Half a million people watched the show Journey in theaters across the UK, which concluded its 14-week run at London’s Apollo Theater earlier this month.
Brown said: “It’s the most responsive of any show I’ve ever done. It’s good to know, I’ve been very moved to read and hear people’s responses to it so far – it’s a very personal project , it’s fantastic to be on Channel 4, I’ve lived here for two years and decades.”
A complete collection of Brown’s work can be found on the VOD service All 4.
“Channel 4 has always given me the creative freedom to push boundaries and innovate as much as I can, so it’s been a joy to bring what I think is the best show to date to Channel 4 audiences,” Brown said.
Darren Brown: The Entertainer will air on Channel 4 at the end of April.
Brown began acting in 1992 and made her television debut in 2000 with “Derren Brown: Mind Control.” His 2006 show “Something Wicked Is Coming” and 2012 show “Svengali” won him the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment. He made his Broadway debut in 2019 in the stage play The Secret.
