Osage Beach – The City of Osage Beach announced Thursday its plans for a new $300 million family resort and entertainment district.
SkyView Partners and Tegethoff Development are co-developing the project, according to the press release.
“People are in a state of leisure when they’re underwater, it just lacks quality water family entertainment,” said Todd Schneider, co-managing partner of SkyView. “We’ve been working there for seven years trying to find the right access, the right visibility. , the key is something that can be reached by boat and road.”
The entertainment district will be developed along Highway 54 and the Lakeport property on Jeffries Road, adjacent to the Grand Glaize Bridge.
Schneider said they look forward to opening the destination for families.
“Oasis at Lakeport will be a unique offering for the region,” he said. “We’re excited about the opportunity to partner with the Osage Beach community to create a new entertainment district for generations to come.”
Admission to Oasis in Lakeport is completely free.
“One thing to note about this is that we don’t charge an admission fee,” Schneider said. “So it’s not like a traditional amusement park where you park your car and walk to the door and pay $100 to get in.”
Individuals only spend money when they want to.
“At the heart of the hotel, parking lot, marina, boardwalk, stage and a bunch of rides is a 200-foot observation wheel, which is the modern Ferris wheel,” Schneider said.
Plans for the year-round entertainment district include rides, a hotel, restaurants, an amphitheater, a marina and a boardwalk. Additionally, the gondola has climate control, heating and cooling throughout the year.
Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe said the project will have an economic impact in Missouri.
“Oasis at Lakeport will create more than 500 jobs and bring 500,000 visitors to Missouri, further enhancing tourism in one of Missouri’s leading industries,” Kehoe said in a press release.
Groundbreaking is expected to begin in 2023, with the tourist destination scheduled to open in 2024.
