Diane Keaton Is ‘Lovely And Kind’ About Her Kissing Scene With Dustin Milligan’s ‘McRita’
Dustin, 37, revealed that Diane, 76, made him relax while kissing between their characters, acting as if she was as nervous as he was.
He told Collider: “Usually, these things are a bit technical. You have to figure out who’s leaning to one side or the other and how far you’re leaning. These kinds of technical conversations happen all the time. Then, it’s awkward. Things you have 40 to 50 people watching you do, making sure you’re doing it right, judging if you’re doing it well. Then, you know there’s an entire audience, in multiple theaters, doing the same thing. It’s stressful at times.
“It’s good because Diane is so nice and kind about it and she acts like she’s as nervous as I am. I don’t know if she’s really, but she’s exuding that vibe and that makes it for both of us more relaxed.”
In the film, Diane plays a future version of Elizabeth Lyle’s McMartin, and Dustin plays their love.
Elizabeth, who previously played Anna of Frozen in the fantasy adventure series Once Upon a Time, admits it was far more stressful to play a character also played by Diane.
She said: “I think it was a little bit more stressful to embody Diane. Although it felt like a lot of pressure to embody Ana at the time, because it’s so important to all 12-year-olds.
“It was so much fun and it was such a joy to be able to do it. I love that aspect of homework, learning from someone and mastering the rhythm, or the gestures, or whatever. It’s really fun for me. I love Doing this. I didn’t even think about it. I watched Frozen maybe a hundred times, I watched all of Diane’s movies. It’s probably more fun to watch Diane’s movies, but I love Frozen , don’t get me wrong.”
