Several clips from the American sitcom “The Simpsons” have appeared in real life, including predictions about Trump’s presidency and Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance. Now, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is pointing out how the Fox show correctly predicted his acquisition on Twitter in 2015.
Elon Musk shared a photo from Episode 12 of Season 26 — Musk falling to Earth — that seemed to suggest he bought Twitter.
“The Simpsons predict I’ll buy Twitter S26E12,” Musk tweeted.
The episode opens with Lisa Simpson feeding the birds in an aviary labeled “Home Tweet Home,” according to the New York Post. While she was feeding the birds, a vulture grabbed and killed some of them. That’s when Musk enters the scene with his rocket ship, as the eagle — a cherished American symbol — soars into the distance. The eagle was destroyed by fire from the plane.
“Cheer up, family. We’re about to meet a creature whose intelligence far exceeds ours,” Homer Simpson said before instructing Bart to pick up his baseball bat.
Musk took off his space helmet and identified himself: “Hi, I’m Elon Musk.”
The bat is thrown on his head by Homer. Lisa yells: “Dad, no! Elon Musk may be the greatest inventor ever.”
The camera pans to a state-of-the-art aviary that attracts several birds.
“I guess humans want to change one aviary at a time,” Lisa said as Musk re-boarded his ship.
Recently, former US President Donald Trump announced that he will seek the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential election. Following the announcement, “The Simpsons” showrunner Arjean shared clips from a 2015 episode featuring Homer Simpson and a presidential campaign sign that read “Trump 2024.”
