[ad_1]

DIFC welcomes the first Perrotin in the Middle East with a celebratory gallery tour and gala dinner at Clap, the Michelin-starred and Gault & Milau-winning Japanese fusion restaurant in DIFC gallery.

In addition to renowned Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami and Canadian sculptor and painter Jason Boyd Kinsella, the evening featured some of Dubai and Paris’ most prominent business tycoons, art collectors, museum directors, top bankers, members of the media and Dubai’s Cultural authorities were present. Attend.

Arif Amiri, CEO of the DIFC Authority, welcomed other dignitaries and dignitaries, Emmanuel Perrotin, founder of the Perrotin gallery; Perrotin’s joint Founders Tom-David Bastok and Dylan Lessel at Gate Village.

Grand opening of Perrotin Gallery in Dubai, showcasing work by some of the world’s most iconic and recognizable artists including Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Donna Vanca, Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara and Lee Ufan et al. The gallery also features works by Takashi Murakami and Kinsella.

Takashi Murakami’s debut exhibition in Dubai is a celebration of the artist’s unique ‘ultra-flat’ style influenced by manga and anime. The exhibition builds on Murakami’s reputation for challenging the contemporary art world’s definitions of “high” and “low” art, blurring the lines between the two.

Takashi Murakami’s solo exhibition at ICD Brookfield Place spans over 400 square meters and brings together a selection of paintings, sculptures and installations in a variety of sizes and mediums, focusing on Mr. DOB, the artist’s iconic figure created in 1993.

Kinsella’s ‘Mentalverse’ exhibition features new sculptures and paintings by the artist, showcasing his unique style of reductive portraiture that explores the commonality of human archetypes. The artist breaks down the personality traits of his characters into geometric units whose shape, color and size define their personalities. This is based on the Myers-Briggs personality test, anchoring his subjects in the essence of their psychological attributes.

Exhibits are open until 28 January 2023 at Perrotin Gallery, Gate Village 5 and ICD Brookfield Place, DIFC. – trade arab news agency
