“Discover Talented Students” program launched

Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Outstanding Academic Performance launches ‘Discover Talented Students’ at Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Center for Gifted and Creativity plan.

Targeting students in grades 4 to 12 in all public and private schools in the UAE, the program aims to identify and support talented students using a set of advanced standardized science tools called ‘Hamdan Talent Rubric’.

Students are nominated to the program through two mechanisms: self-nomination, where students or their guardians complete their information on the program’s website, or collective nominations coordinated with schools and institutions.

Dr Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Outstanding Academic Performance, said: “The new project uses ‘Hamdan Talent Rubric’, the first scientific tool in the country to discover talented students. Vision and ongoing effort to provide leadership in identifying talented students, developing them, and engaging them in projects appropriate to their scientific abilities and skills.

“Through this program, talented students are identified and supported by identifying the type and level of talent to meet their needs and providing them with appropriate educational services. This is done by applying a set of up-to-date criteria to determine the talents and skills, preparing them for acceptance into the Centre’s programme. This is in line with our wise leadership’s vision of supporting exceptional students, developing talent, developing their innovations in various fields and preparing them to take on the future of national advancement responsibility and contribute to supporting the UAE’s status as a hub of creativity, innovation, science and technology.”

Dr Al Suwaidi added: “The program aims to identify the maximum number of talented students across a wide range of fields to ensure that the abilities of talented students are matched with the quality of courses that are suitable for them. spreading awareness about the latest methods and practices in discovering talented students.”

Dr. Al Suwaidi concluded by stating that “Hamdan Talent Rubric” represents one of the best and most advanced Arabic assessment tools globally recognized. It is developed by a professional scientific team from internationally renowned universities in Germany and Saudi Arabia based on the latest scientific theories and global best practices in the talent field. — trade arab news agency
