Disney fans learn about upcoming entertainment during D23 event | News

[ad_1]

Lately, Disney fans everywhere have been excited for the long weekend of September 9-11. Why are they excited? D23 Expo.

D23 Expo is a biannual event hosted by D23, Disney’s official fan club. At D23 Expo, plans for upcoming movies, TV shows and parks were released, with fans seeing trailers and sneak peaks for the first time, and information shared through multiple panels.

Below is a brief rundown of my favorite upcoming movies and TV shows announced or mentioned at this year’s D23 Expo.

• In true Disney fashion, what has to happen with Mickey Mouse is the announcement of “Mickey: A Mouse’s Tale,” an original documentary on Disney+ starting November 8th.

• One of my personal favorite movies is Disney Animation’s Make a Wish, which will be released in the fall of 2023. “Making a Wish” tells the story of how the Wishing Star that many Disney characters had hoped for came into being. Along with the announcement, Disney released a stunning piece of concept art showing main character Asha and its newest animal companion, a goat named Valentino.

• One of Disney’s biggest franchises is getting a new installment. That’s right, we’re getting our fifth Indiana Jones movie, which will hit theaters on June 20. Harrison Ford at D23 helped announce the film.

• Another sequel was also announced. “Disenchanted” is the sequel to the 2007 film “Enchanted”. Released on November 24, the “Broken” movie is set 15 years after the original film.

• On the Marvel side, “Marvel” will be released on July 28th. “Marvel” is about Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel. “Marvel” was first announced at the end of the last episode of the recent “Miss Marvel” TV series.

• Disney is known for its classic rides in its parks. One of those classic rides is the Haunted House, which will be the basis for a new movie coming out in 2023. At D23, the director of the upcoming film, Justin Simeon, gave the D23 crowd a sneak peak of the film. Jamie Lee Curtis will play Mrs. Leotard in the film. She also talks about “Haunted Houses” at the D23 Expo.

• My favorite part of D23 was the Disney-branded TV showcase, as Rick Riordan, author of the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series, showed the trailer for the TV adaptation. The series stars Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Aryan Simhardley (Grover Underwood) and Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase) ) also showed the trailer live.

• Maisy Kollman is a freshman at Eisenhower High School.
