Abu Dhabi successfully and safely hosted two live events last month, attracting a total of more than 30,000 ticket holders to the Disney on Ice and Russell Peters Night performances at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
Disney on Ice is the first performance of the show outside of the United States since the pandemic began. The 10-day meticulously choreographed event tells classics and new stories and attracts audiences.
Starring Disney’s cute characters, including the stars of the Mouse House-Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy, the show also includes modern crowd favorites such as Moana; and Anna and Ai in “Frozen” Elsa. The show won the love of adults and children by showing several fascinating performances, including Moana’s “How Far I’ll Go”, Frozen’s “Let it Go” and “In Summer” skateboard soundtrack. Those who were born in the 80s, along with Sebastian and Ariel, Rapunzel and Flynn, and Beauty and the Beast, get the most incredible nostalgic return.
This international event was a great success in Abu Dhabi, demonstrating the emirate’s full capacity to safely host large-scale live entertainment events.
In addition, the emirate also hosted a groundbreaking show by the world-famous Canadian comedian Russell Peters. His humorous observations won the audience laughter.

The impressive entertainment activities run throughout the year until 2022. International sporting events include UFC 267: Brajovitz vs. TEIXEIRA, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and FINA World Swimming Championships. Abu Dhabi will also host the Arijit Singh concert on November 19 and the Michael McIntyre comedy show on November 26.
