In the first half of this year, the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), located in ports, customs and free zone companies, has issued 800 maritime driving licenses and approximately 700 ship permits.

Sheikh Said bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, executive director of the Dubai Maritime City Authority, stated that the authority is working to regulate the departments engaged in maritime activities in Dubai waters and is issuing licenses and permits to strengthen Security and safety work. In the first half of 2021, mooring permits for 4,000 ships will be issued in UAE waters.
He added that the shipping agent of the ship must apply for a permit to call the ship in Dubai waters and indicate the time and purpose of the call in the permit application.
Al Maktoum pointed out that the authorities issued a notice last month on relaxing restrictions on mooring and marine entertainment activities, emphasizing the need to follow the recommendations in the notice.
