[ad_1]

The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has announced a doubling of the number of Chinese companies in its free zone, adding on average more than two Chinese companies per week.

Today, DMCC has 703 Chinese companies, accounting for nearly 12% of Chinese companies in the UAE. This growth has benefited from the long-standing diplomatic and economic relationship between the UAE and China.

DMCC has played a vital role in strengthening the UAE’s trade relations with China and strengthening the presence of Chinese companies in Dubai. Since its inception, DMCC has signed a wide range of agreements with Chinese public and private entities to facilitate bilateral trade relations, as well as hosting roadshows and webinars to facilitate the international expansion of Chinese companies.

DMCC has built a comprehensive infrastructure that caters to the Chinese business community, including the Yingtian China Business Centre DMCC established in 2017 to help Chinese companies wishing to set up companies in Dubai. In addition, DMCC’s website has also been launched in Chinese, further enhancing the ease of doing business in Dubai. In 2020, the China Service Center opened in Almas Tower, DMCC’s headquarters, offering Mandarin on-boarding support at all customer touchpoints, while setting up a representative office in Shenzhen to bring DMCC to the door of Chinese businesses.

largest trading partner

The UAE and China have historically enjoyed good diplomatic and economic relations, working closely together to achieve common goals and principles. The UAE is China’s largest trading partner in the Arab world. In 2021, China is also the UAE’s largest trading partner, accounting for 11.7% of the UAE’s total foreign trade. An increase of 19.8%. In the first quarter of 2022, China remained the UAE’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade between the two countries amounting to AED57 billion. By 2030, trade is expected to expand to $200 billion.

Part of the reason for this accelerated growth is that the UAE was one of the first countries to join the Belt and Road Initiative and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. As a result, the UAE is now China’s largest logistics hub in the Middle East, with more than 60% of China’s trade in the region now transiting through the UAE. — arab trade news agency
