dnata, the world’s leading provider of aviation and travel services, has been named Ground Support Provider of the Year for the 12th and third consecutive year at the Middle East Aviation Business Awards 2022.
Accepting the award on behalf of dnata, Jaffar Dawood, Senior Vice President, Emirates Airport Operations at dnata, said: “Receiving this honor for the 12th time is a tribute to our team’s commitment to consistently delivering world-class service to our airline partners. Over the past year, dnata has continued to scale operations to support the increased flight operations of its airline customers at more than 120 airports around the world. This includes opening new state-of-the-art cargo centers in London, UK and Erbil, Iraq, as well as expanding its existing facility in Dallas, US.
Additionally, dnata expanded its cargo operations to Cologne, Germany through strategic acquisitions and announced a major investment of $200 million in dnata Cargo City Amsterdam, a fully automated cargo hub in the Netherlands.
dnata is also investing in cutting-edge technology and digitalization to further improve the efficiency of its operations. Key milestones include the launch of OneCargo, its digital cargo management system, the development of a next-generation e-commerce platform, and the launch of autonomous drones in its warehouses.
dnata also continues its efforts to optimize resources and reduce the environmental footprint of its global network. More recently, it has installed renewable energy technologies such as solar panels, heat recovery units and electric vehicle charging at existing facilities in the UK and Singapore. dnata will also incorporate carbon reduction initiatives into the construction and operation of its new cargo centers in Iraq and the Netherlands.
dnata provides ground handling, freight, travel, catering and retail services in 37 countries on six continents. In the first six months of the 2022-23 financial year, dnata’s customer-focused teams handled more than 347,000 aircraft turns, moved more than 1.35 million tonnes of cargo, consigned 50.5 million meals and recorded the total transaction value of travel services (TTV) $1.3 billion. – trade arab news agency
