Air Dispatch, part of dnata, the world’s leading provider of centralized load control (CLC) services, recently celebrated the production of its seven millionth load meter.
Released from the Prague facility, the landmark document ensures the safe and efficient operation of the Airbus A330-300 P2F cargo flight operated by Titan Air on behalf of global freight forwarder GEODIS.
Since 2007, Air Dispatch has been providing quality and reliable CLC services to legacy and new generation airlines. It calculates aircraft weight and balance conditions prior to flight, ensuring increased productivity and profitability for its airline customers.
Air Dispatch’s CLC department coordinates with stakeholders during all phases of operations and provides 24 hour support for weight and balance issues. Schedules for cargo flights vary and often span multiple hours. Cargo handlers such as dnata need to know the maximum weight and specific pallet combination hours before the flight so they can build the payload in the most efficient way, ensuring compliance with the balance requirements of the aircraft operating the flight.
Load planning takes place before loading supervisors arrive at the airport, freeing them up to take on the safety-critical role of coordinating and overseeing loads. The CLC unit also coordinates transport loads well in advance of the aircraft’s arrival, enabling efficient turnaround and improving on-time performance.
Each month, Air Dispatch’s 170 highly trained aviation professionals produce more than 60,000 load sheets for 19 airlines operating at 392 airports on six continents and in every available time zone around the world.
