DP World’s Cargoes Community has launched a new shipping line dashboard at the company’s Jeddah terminal, fully digitizing the customer experience.
With this update, the Cargoes Community System is now one of the most advanced port community systems available in Saudi Arabia – allowing shipping lines to obtain real-time status updates of any registered vessel entering or leaving the terminal in a simple and cost-effective manner.
The Cargoes community system includes container management functionality that allows users to check the status of their containers and update information related to detentions, detentions and releases.
Terminal Planning Team
Prior to this innovation, shipping companies had to contact terminal planning teams for information on active vessels and to understand work completion estimates. This manual process often causes delays in the planning of the next set of activities and subsequent trips by the shipping line.
Now, cargo owners can log in to the Cargoes Community system to view detailed information of ships in real time, export data as visual charts and tables, and adjust routes as needed. The new system can also send automated messages and real-time updates via text message and email.
Mahmood AlBastaki, Chief Operating Officer, Digital Trade Solutions, DP World, said: “There is a need for greater visibility into global supply chains and we are proud to offer the most advanced system in the region. Competitive business insight. Shipping companies operating in Jeddah can now quickly generate custom reports and collect years of operational data in minutes.”
