As part of the World Cup celebrations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC), Dubai Airports has an exciting series of games, shows and events for fans.
Visitors to the DXB and DWC are being overwhelmed by the sights, sounds and colors of Qatar’s quadrennial football event. These events include lively dance performances and flag parades that alternate between DXB and DWC, adding a splash of color and festive spirit to the terminal.
Adidas, supplier of the official match ball for the World Cup, has installed giant balls at both airports – the Departures Hall and the DXB Family Zone in Terminal 3, and the DWC Departures Terminal. Fans can experience the giants of Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema in augmented reality by scanning QR codes at these locations. Visitors can also purchase official merchandise at dedicated adidas World Cup stores at both airports.
DXB’s Terminal 3 is also home to an incredible gaming space – the region’s first airport gaming lounge that recently opened. The space features 40 gaming stations, each with a 50-inch screen and side-by-side seating, for solo or multiplayer play. Centrally located in the DXB Family Zone at Gate B of Terminal 3, the facility allows travelers to turn waiting time into game time before their flight.
To keep fans connected to the game even while traveling, JCDecaux partnered with Dubai Airports to display live scores from the World Cup Championship on advertising screens at key locations in DXB. Football fans waiting for their flights can also watch live matches on screens in the fan area of Terminal 3.
Careem has partnered with Dubai Airports to offer a 10% discount on all journeys to and from DWC, saving up to AED 15 ($4) per ride, up to four per passenger per month, throughout the World Cup. – trade arab news agency
