Dubai Chamber launches laboratory and diagnostic center group

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has launched the Medical Laboratories and Diagnostic Centers Business Group to support the thriving healthcare sector in Dubai and the wider UAE.

The new business group seeks to foster partnerships between its members and relevant stakeholders to underpin the importance of medical laboratories and diagnostic centers in the healthcare sector.

“The establishment of this business group is opportune as it brings together players in the diagnostic laboratories sector and further strengthens Dubai’s thriving healthcare sector. The business group will play an important role in supporting the industry, helping it to Boom in the coming years,” said Maha AlGargawi, executive director of business advocacy at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

Medical center

Dubai’s healthcare market is worth over US$4.63 billion annually. Dubai and the wider UAE are rapidly emerging as a healthcare hub with significant opportunities.

The UAE has the world’s largest medical free zone, Dubai Healthcare City, which includes 160 clinical partners and professionals from more than 90 countries in more than 150 specialties. According to a report by the Ministry of Economy and the UAE International Investors Council, medical tourism sales are expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 17.1% from 2021 to 2025.

Dr Ola Elgaddar, founding member and Managing Director of Al Borg Diagnostics UAE, said: “The healthcare industry in Dubai and the wider UAE is clearly thriving. As a founding member of the business group, I am eager to start a dialogue with my peers to learn about our How to further integrate our division and business into the healthcare industry. This business group will serve as an appropriate platform to discuss topics of central importance to our industry and to provide ideas and recommendations on how to move forward.”

The establishment of the Medical Laboratories and Diagnostic Centers business group plays a vital role in recommending policy changes to increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of the sector, while promoting international best practice and supporting the emirate’s economic growth. The Chamber plans to increase the number of business groups representing Dubai’s economic sectors and activities to 100 by March 2023 as part of the Chamber’s plans. — trade arab news agency
