Dubai Culture partners with Juma Al Majid Centre

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has signed a cultural agreement with the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage to document the UAE’s intangible heritage and raise awareness for the development of the literary industry.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will strengthen cooperation between the two parties in promoting literature by launching related international events and days such as Arab Library Day, Arab Manuscript Day, Arab Poetry Day and Emirati Women’s Day.

The MoU also confirms the need for Dubai Culture to collaborate with the Juma Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage to establish and organize practical and scientific workshops, especially in the areas of literature such as classification and cataloguing, criticism, creative writing and with manuscripts and documents.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Culture, Arts and Literature;

According to the MoU, the two parties will coordinate through their respective fields of work, especially empowering the literature and heritage fields, and establish cooperation mechanisms, including the use of halls and facilities by both parties, the exchange of books, publications such as Emirati heritage audio-visual materials, journals, and the establishment of Committee, arrange joint working mechanism.

Bin Kharbash said: “We are delighted to sign a new partnership with Dubai and the UAE’s leading centre for culture, heritage and literature, by launching related events and hosting workshops dedicated to advancing the field of literature. In doing so, we have The impact of cultural and creative industries and their outputs on gross domestic product (GDP) will be consolidated.”

Gad said: “We are delighted to document this partnership between the Centre and Dubai Culture on behalf of His Excellency Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage Chairperson, which plays a leading role in supporting culture and creativity. The partnership is within the framework of unifying and integrating efforts between institutions to achieve groundbreaking achievements at the cultural and heritage level, in line with Dubai’s vision and the UAE’s wise leadership in turning Dubai into a global creative hub.”

The MoU also seeks to enhance the exchange and integration of information, keep up with the latest developments, and ensure that researchers and policymakers have access to the information. In addition, both parties seek to coordinate and benefit from their respective expertise to facilitate the achievement of common goals and effectively contribute to the overall development of the community. – arab trade news agency
