The victim was found dead next to the refrigerator in their two-bedroom apartment.
A domestic worker in Dubai was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing an elderly Emirati who was in his care.
The 30-year-old Pakistani defendant was found to have strangled the man using the victim’s handcuffs. put (Long pockets worn under the traditional men’s clothing in the UAE).
The incident occurred on June 15 last year, when the man’s wife went shopping and left the diabetic husband to the defendant.
Two hours later, the defendant called her and said that her husband was unconscious. She rushed home and saw the workers as soon as she entered the villa.
“He told me that my husband was unconscious and not dead,” the 42-year-old Iranian woman told the court.
She found her husband lying on the ground next to the refrigerator in their two-bedroom apartment in their villa in the Hor Al Anz area.
“I thought he fell because it happened before,” she said.
The woman called an ambulance, thinking that her husband was still alive, she called two stepsons.
The man’s sons arrived, and one of them rushed to hug and kiss their father.
“When my brother hugged him, I noticed a piece of cloth and the ezar on my father’s neck,” said the 22-year-old son.
“I asked the worker what happened, but he (the defendant) just laughed,” the son said.
Investigations revealed that nearly a month before the incident, the Emirati man told his son that the worker insulted him and often pushed him or pinched him.
“But we don’t think it’s true.”
The officials looked for the defendant, but he was nowhere to be found. He was arrested in the same area the next day.
The investigation found that he had worked as a gardener in a private company in Dubai, but absconded about seven months ago.
A policeman said: “During the interrogation, he claimed that he had been abused by the victim many times.”
On the day of the murder, he said he was beaten by the old man, who allegedly tried to strangle him with his ezar because it took him too long to prepare tea and hookah for him.
The police officer said: “He claimed that he was in self-defense and snatched Ezar from the victim, and then killed the victim with another piece of Buller thrown aside.”
In August last year, the defendant denied a premeditated murder charge in court.
On Tuesday, he was sentenced to life imprisonment and subsequently deported.
