An Arab driver was arrested after a minor collision in Dubai. The driver committed a traffic violation worth AED 33,000.
He was also found to be driving without valid registration or insurance.
The accident that led the police to pursue the driver in the incident occurred on Al Ittihad Street when the man ran into another car from behind while driving his brother’s car.
The driver of the affected vehicle asked the defendant to wait for the police. However, the man refused and fled the scene of the accident after claiming that he needed medical assistance.
The affected driver was surprised that he left before the police arrived, took down the license plate number of the fleeing driver, and gave it to the authorities.
The police of the Al Qusais police station summoned the owner of the car, only to find that he was the brother of the driver who had stolen his car without his knowledge.

Due to the accumulation of violations, the perpetrators were summoned, and the cars were seized and transferred to the UAE for auction.
The driver in the accident admitted that he fled the scene of the accident for fear of the vehicle being impounded. He was transferred to the Traffic Court, which sentenced him and ordered him to pay a fine of AED 7,400.
