Surveillance footage shows accused stealing valuables while helping victim
An Asian hotel security guard stole a $50,000 watch from a Canadian guest. The Dubai Criminal Court convicted him, sentenced him to three months in prison and deported him after serving his sentence.
According to the investigation report, the incident occurred in May 2022. The criminal stole the diamond-encrusted watch from the guest while he was drunk.
The victim found himself missing a $50,000 watch the next day, adding that two guards helped him get to his hotel room. He immediately informed the hotel management of the incident.
The hotel security chief testified during the investigation that he checked surveillance cameras while helping the victim into the room and saw security guards, then used the watch dropped in the hallway leading to the room to steal it and he reported it to police.
Police arrested the security guard and found the watch in his room. The defendant admitted during the investigation that he stole the watch because he needed money, so the court found him guilty and made a judgment.
