The Dubai Institute of Tourism (DCT), affiliated to the Department of Dubai Tourism and Business Marketing (Dubai Tourism) and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), one of the UK’s oldest and largest higher education institutions, announced a new route to Dubai. As a vocational college, DCT students have benefited from being able to obtain qualifications at every stage of the college’s education. Students start with a one-year certificate in their chosen field of study, including: tourism, events, hospitality, retail business or culinary arts. Students who want to continue their education and achieve the required GPA can continue to study the diploma program before entering the advanced diploma program for another year, which opens the way for obtaining a Bachelor of Event Management (Honours) and a Bachelor of International Tourism (Honours) degree. The accredited Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree will further prepare students for entry into Dubai’s tourism industry and contribute to the training of a new generation of skilled tourism professionals among Emirati and expatriates.
