Dubai Municipality has launched the “3D Infrastructure and Services Roadmap” project with the aim of positioning Dubai as a fully intelligent model offering the best cutting-edge services in compliance with various international and innovative standards across all industries.
Several modern technologies will reportedly be used to provide 3D scans of underground service lines, ensuring delivery of all relevant data and accuracy of geospatial databases Wow.
It said the data included details of all services such as irrigation, sewage and stormwater lines maintained by Dubai Municipality, as well as road lighting lines and electricity and water lines provided by the Roads and Transport Authority.
These underground service lines will be further scanned, processed, and delivered to organizations that own the data for updating.
It added that this data is critical to achieving the city’s digital twin goals, which include facilitating and accelerating operations using 3D infrastructure data, including infrastructure projects for NOCs and associated buildings.
Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said the project will be a comprehensive study of the selection of advanced technologies to build 3D models and geospatial data maps of underground infrastructure and service lines, integrating all precise details into a single source of information.
“This study will further explore recent technological innovations in preparing maps of subsurface infrastructure, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology, and select the best technology to ensure the sustainable viability of data collection across Dubai to keep up with the latest information,” Al observes the almanac.
Mariam Al Muhairi, Acting Chief Executive of the Construction Regulatory and Licensing Agency, said the project would be carried out in two phases, the first involving an analysis of technologies available globally, ensuring their quality, efficacy and usability in order to make them available to the professional team and Train them to use it.
“In addition, the second phase involves technical inspection of all infrastructure service lines to update all data,” he noted.
Several modern technologies will be used to provide 3D scanning of underground service lines, guaranteeing the delivery of all relevant data and the accuracy of the geospatial database, Wow Report.
It added that the data included details of all services such as irrigation, sewage and stormwater lines maintained by Dubai Municipality, as well as road lighting lines and electricity and water supply lines provided by the Roads and Transport Authority.
