Dubai opens three new beaches for night swimming

Dubai Municipality has further expanded its beach tourism offering with the opening of three new night swimming beaches in Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3 and Umm Suqam 1.

The 800-meter-long Night Swimming Beach has a lighting system that allows residents and tourists to swim around the clock, and electronic screens display content designed to raise safety awareness among beachgoers.

Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: “The new Night Swimming Beach is part of Dubai Municipality’s vision to realize the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of the UAE. The emirate’s wide variety of beaches, each with its own unique appeal, offers opportunities for vibrant seaside dining and activities. Beaches are key attractions in Dubai’s unique tourism, lifestyle and leisure proposition for residents and visitors.

Improve the beach experience
Dubai Municipality and its partners have developed unique new facilities to improve beachgoers’ experience, including lighting systems and electronic screens to allow them to swim safely 24 hours a day.

The beach is manned by qualified lifeguards and equipped with the latest rescue and emergency equipment to ensure the highest safety standards. Night swimming hours at the beach will be from sunset to sunrise, the city said.

In order to enhance safety, the Dubai Municipality recommends that people who go to the beach only perform night swimming in designated areas and avoid going into the sea from other areas. In addition to maintaining the highest possible cleanliness, the city government has stressed the importance of safety awareness, compliance with beach rules and regulations, constant monitoring of children and following lifeguard instructions. – trade arab news agency
