Dubai: Pay 35 dirhams to buy additional license plate numbers for bike racks-News

[ad_1]

The bicycle rack located at the rear of the vehicle often blocks the visibility of the rear license plate.

Starting in November this year, motorists in Dubai can install an additional license plate on the rear of a vehicle equipped with a trunk bike.

The Road and Transportation Administration (RTA) said on Monday that motorists can start using the service from 35 dirhams. The service will be available on http://rta.ae, and motorists can obtain license plates from the service provider.

The bicycle rack located at the rear of the vehicle often blocks the visibility of the rear license plate. The extra license plate will help prevent this.

In the UAE, blocking a license plate is a traffic violation.

RTA had earlier stated that the service was launched based on feedback and suggestions from residents.

Dubai’s goal is to become one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world by extending the total length of bike lanes in the emirate to 739 kilometers.
