Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a digital license for passenger drivers (bus and taxi drivers as well as limousine drivers) as well as school transport attendants for companies and entities operating in the sector.
Licenses are accessible through the RTA’s website and the RTA Dubai Drive app. The move is part of RTA’s transformation into digital platform services. This is also in line with the Smart City Initiative and the RTA’s third strategic objective (people’s well-being).
“The purpose of the new digital license for professional passenger drivers (bus and taxi drivers and limousine drivers) as well as school transport attendants is to bring joy to customers by providing a service that saves time and effort. It enables them to Obtain such a permit and obtain a digital card through the RTA app (RTA-DUBAI DRIVE) on your smartphone,” said Saeed Al Ramsi, Director of Driver Affairs, RTA Public Transport Agency.
The process of smart conversion of professional licenses has been launched by sending letters and hosting workshops to stakeholders in the taxi, limousine and school transport sectors, introducing them to digital cards via their smartphones via the Dubai Drive app. A manual has been published for using the RTA-DUBAI DRIVE app on a smartphone and displaying the virtual card.
“RTA is keen to keep up with the government’s directives, especially in providing convenience services to increase customer happiness, which is a high priority in RTA’s strategy and service offerings,” concluded Al Ramsi,- arab trade news agency
