Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Museum of the Future have announced a new partnership to showcase future mobility solutions from personal jetpacks to self-driving cars.
They have signed a strategic partnership to showcase some of the world’s most exciting and advanced mobility solutions in the “Tomorrow, Today” exhibition, an evolving showcase of innovation for the museum of the future. Visitors will have the opportunity to see personal jetpacks, medical drones, food delivery robots, electric bicycles, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, and more.
Highlights include a self-driving car prototype using artificial intelligence, machine learning and geospatial data. The exhibition will also showcase new ideas for green, sustainable and environmentally friendly mass transport services that are being showcased globally, as well as R&D centers around the world.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Executive Board, Commissioner for Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Welfare Pillars, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai said: “The rapid technological and industrial changes brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially in autonomous driving The transportation sector will reshape the future of mobility, offering new modes of transportation and developing existing modes of transportation that are in line with future trends. He added that the RTA is conducting pilot tests of different types of self-driving cars, developing the infrastructure to serve self-driving cars and air taxis, and promoting the adoption of the technology in society.

At Tomorrow, Today, Dubai RTA will showcase a dynamic wireless charging system that uses Shaped Magnetic Field Resonance (SMFIR) technology tested at Dubai Silicon Oasis to charge moving electric cars and buses. The network can be installed under the road to provide smart wireless charging for electric vehicles as they drive around the city.
The agreement between the Museum of the Future and Dubai RTA underscores the museum’s efforts to provide an open laboratory to foster creativity, innovation and development ideas to address challenges in healthcare, education, smart cities, energy and transport. – arab trade news agency
