The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will host a dizzying drone show, with 500 aircraft soaring hundreds of meters above the ground, lighting up the night sky until 29 January 2023.
The Beach, JBR and Bluewaters Island have two light shows every night at 7pm and 10pm.

After a magical day of exploring the emirate, travelers soar into the sunset at sunset.
The second show, set in a futuristic hyperverse, gave residents an immersive glimpse into what Dubai might look like twenty years from now. Set in the year 2040, this forward-looking experience offers onlookers a glimpse of what Dubai might look like as it moves towards a pioneering tomorrow.
Using cutting-edge technology and AR headsets, viewers will be catapulted into the center of the story and immersed in a 3D light show.
How Drones Work
The expansive flying space above the venue locations—JBR’s Bluewaters and The Beach—gives the creatives behind the show access to 500 drones; all operated by a dedicated team from a purpose-built landing zone near the takeoff site.
Hundreds of glowing drones execute choreographed patterns using 3D animation tools, requiring only two pilots each night to perform the show.
Pilots control the operation of the entire fleet through state-of-the-art control systems. Each drone works as a separate entity and will maintain its own flight path, carefully mapped into computer-guided animations.
