The Dubai Municipality also imposed fines on two other institutions.

The Dubai Municipality (DM) closed five premises that violated the Covid-19 security agreement on Tuesday.

The closed facilities include four barbershops in Mirdif, Satwa and Naif areas, which do not comply with mandatory mask regulations and are overcrowded. A massage center in Oud Metha was also closed due to failure to follow cleaning and disinfection procedures and not wearing a mask.

DM stated that its inspectors conducted 2,225 inspections in Dubai and they found that the average compliance rate of preventive measures was 99%.

Inspectors fined the other two agencies and issued nine warnings. According to a report by Emarat Al Youm, the number of organizations meeting public safety requirements reached 2,209.

The inspection team conducts routine inspections based on consumer complaints. The fine was imposed in accordance with Local Order No. 11 of 2003 on Dubai Public Health and Community Safety.

The municipality appeals to members of the public to report any violations or comments in this regard via the toll-free number 800900 or the “Montaji” service provided in the Dubai Municipal App.
