Dubai Station ATM records over 122 business meetings

It was a very successful event for the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) with more than 122 public and private sector institutions holding numerous business meetings at the Dubai booth at the Arab Travel Market (ATM).

This year’s ATM, with a focus on responsible tourism under the theme ‘Strive for Net Zero’, coincides with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability. During the four-day event, DET highlighted the key role that the city’s tourism industry plays in supporting the strategic UAE 2050 Net Zero initiative, including the launch of activities in the area of ​​sustainable development in Dubai, in line with his vision His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, wants Dubai to be the best city in the world to visit, live and work in.

ATM’s sustainability theme also leads the conversation towards another milestone event Dubai will host later this year, the United Nations climate change conference COP28, while sparking interest in Dubai’s remarkable multi-pronged blueprint for sustainable growth Further interest, which is in line with Dubai’s target economic agenda, D33.

As a testament to its success at ATM 2023, DET was awarded the “Best Booth for Business” award for its impressive three-level exhibition space. In awarding the DET award, the ATM judges praised the stand’s combination of comfortable seating, spacious layout and high-quality hospitality to create an inviting environment for visitors.

DET also organizes the largest ATM Hosted Buyer Program, showcasing Dubai’s unparalleled hospitality and diverse offerings. This year’s event attracted a record 450 buyers from 31 different markets and countries, representing all regions. DMCs supporting the Hosted Buyer Program include Rida Tours, Knight Tours, Arabian Oryx and Arabian Adventures, whose generosity and passion have allowed Hosted Buyers to enjoy a variety of experiences and iconic attractions in the city, including visits to the Museum of the Future, Burj Al Arabian and Sonara desert camps.

The Dubai stand also welcomed visiting dignitaries and senior diplomats. Additionally, ATM visitors enthusiastically participated in the Dubai Landmarks Challenge, an interactive game for visitors installed at the Dubai stand, further highlighting the city’s diverse destination proposition.

Dubai’s successful participation in ATM 2023 follows a strong first quarter of 2023 for Dubai’s tourism sector, with the city receiving 4.67 million international overnight visitors between January and March, compared to 3.97 million in the same period in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 17%, to 98% of pre-pandemic levels in the first quarter of 2023, making it the fastest recovering destination in the world. – trade arab news agency
