The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Norwegian Freshwater to explore expanding water supply chains and enhancing water security in the region.
In its statement, DMCC said the partnership aims to support Freshwater Norway’s foothold in the UAE, where a staggering 1 billion litres of pure, natural drinking water will flow through Dubai every year for 50 years.
The latest announcement comes at a time when DMCC plans to launch its own water hub – a move driven in part by concerns about global water insecurity and fluctuating supplies. Sadly, more details are expected to be released in the coming months, the DMCC said in a press statement.
The MoU is regarded as the core strategic cooperation between the two parties. Fresh Water Norway will immediately be able to take advantage of DMCC’s world-class services, global connections and network across supply chains, and unparalleled ability to drive trade flows in Dubai.
