Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) warned residents on Wednesday that the Dubai leg of the 2023 UAE Tour, which begins on February 20, is expected to cause traffic delays on several major roads in Dubai.

From Shindagha, the first part of the Dubai stage begins on the fringes of the city before heading into the desert, passing classic stopovers such as the Al Qudra cycleway and Dubai Expo City. Cyclists will then reach the Palm Jumeirah on Crescent Rd before returning to their bases on the Palm and Dubai Harbour.

Keeping the routes in mind, the RTA has announced that drivers must expect delays on the following major roads in the emirate between 12.30pm and 4.30pm on Thursday (23 February). Authorities urged motorists to plan their trips accordingly or choose alternative routes.

Al Shindagha / Infinity Bridge / Al Khaleej St. / Sheikh Rashid Road. / Oud Metha Street / Al Assayel St. / Al Marabea St. / Dubai Hills.

Umm Suqam Street / Al Qudra St. / Saih Al Salam Street / Lehbab Road. / Expo Road. / Dubai Expo City / Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan St. / Al Yalayis St. / Al Camilla Street / Al Yalays Street / Palm Jumeirah / King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud St. / Dubai Harbour.

Over seven stages, 16 UCI WorldTeams will join 4 UCI ProTeams as they race along unique roads in the Middle East, starting and finishing in Abu Dhabi.

The tour will run from February 20-26.
