A 31-year-old unemployed Dubai resident received what he called the most “unforgettable gift” on his birthday on Saturday when he learned that he had won 1 million dirhams in the Mahzooz live draw held last week.
Raja, a Pakistani national, was announced as the 14th millionaire in the 40th weekly live Mahzooz draw. Raja won the gold medal after matching five of the six winning numbers (12, 26, 33, 38, 47 and 49).
Raja, who once worked as an account manager for a logistics company, resigned two months ago and is always looking for new opportunities. But this did not stop him from participating in the Mahzooz lottery, which he said he has been doing since it was launched.
On the eve of his birthday, just a few hours before Raja turned 31, the winner of the Mahzooz live draw was announced. When he saw the winning number, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
“The feeling of being a millionaire on the eve of my birthday is both wonderful and surprising. This is undoubtedly the best birthday gift I have ever received in my life,” Raja exclaimed, adding that this victory made him feel like a man “King” also happens to be the literal meaning of his name (Raja) in Hindi.
