Dubai Youth Council, in collaboration with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (Dewa) Youth Council, organized a Youth Circle themed ‘Towards a Sustainable Future.’ The event aimed to discuss environmental sustainability, global cooperation, and the role of COP28 in addressing climate change challenges.
It also explored the goals of Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to transform Dubai into a sustainable city.
Attended by Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the Supreme Legislation Committee (SLC), the event included the participation of the Office of the UAE Special Envoy for COP28 and youth council members from public and private sectors.
The event reflected the UAE’s commitment to involving youth in building a sustainable future. With the UAE designating 2023 as the Year of Sustainability, the hosting of COP28 at Expo City Dubai underscores the nation’s dedication to international collaboration for environmental preservation.
The Youth Circle included discussions on legislative frameworks for environmental preservation, 3D printing in the construction sector, and other sustainability-related topics. The initiative aligns with Dubai’s efforts to involve youth in decision-making and innovative solutions for global challenges.
The Youth Circles initiative, launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to foster youth-centric dialogues, promoting engagement with the younger generation and generating innovative solutions for global challenges.
