After giving birth to the wrong baby, a couple is suing a fertility clinic in Los Angeles.
According to reports, the couple’s “born child was born by another couple after the two women implanted each other’s embryos.”
Daphna and Alexander Cardinale gave birth to a baby girl, but something was wrong. “When she was born, I had a strange intuitive reaction. It was illogical. It was like an instinct,” Alexander said.
DNA testing confirmed that the baby is not their biological daughter. Daphne’s embryo was implanted into a stranger. The same woman who asked not to be named gave birth to Daphne’s daughter a week ago.
“When I found out that she was not mine, I poured more love into her. Maybe I just stuck to her. I was really scared that I would lose her. I finally did it,” Daphne Cardinal Say.
In the end, these babies were returned to their biological parents. “We had to do a lot of chasing,” Alexander added.
The couple have filed a lawsuit against their “doctors, the California Reproductive Health Center and a third-party embryology laboratory, accusing them of misconduct, including medical malpractice and negligence.”
The complaint stated that the California Center for Reproductive Health “believes that the embryos were mixed up when the biopsy was performed in VitroTech’s embryology laboratory for genetic testing.”
At present, neither the doctor nor the clinic commented on this situation.
Roommate, what would you do in this situation?
