The Duke of Sussex is said to have written his memoirs “for his own happiness”.
A source told The Telegraph on Saturday (29/10/22) that his motivation for his upcoming autobiography, SPARE, was to do something “for himself”.
The insider added that the reasoning behind the book, which will be published on January 10, is: “You can’t always live a life that makes your family or siblings happy. You have to choose your own happiness.”
Denying reports that the book would attack the royal family, the Telegraph source added that it would not be “destroying his family” but “beautiful reading”.
Earlier royal experts said Harry, 38, could travel to the UK to promote the autobiography in order to explain the “intent” behind it.
There have also been reports that the publication of the book could be subject to retaliation from the palace, including stripping him and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, of their royal titles, 41.
Branding expert Nick Ed added that Harry’s decision to call the upcoming book “The Spare” – a reference to his nickname “The Spare Heir” – was also to show that the royal was “going through a lot”, but also Shows his “sense of humour”.
Nick told Mail Online’s FEMAIL section on Thursday (10/27/22): “Choosing the title ‘SPARE’ is not only provocative but also fits Harry’s sense of humor.

Harry reportedly paid $20m (£18.4m) upfront for the book as part of a three-book deal worth £36.8m, but the royal family has donated $1.5m (£1.3m) from the book to Children’s charity Sentebale and £300,000 to WellChild, a disabled youth charity of which he is patron.
