Dubai Airport has urged travelers to keep up to date with the latest travel regulations and plan their journey, as DXB is preparing for the busiest weekend in the hub so far this year. The world’s busiest international airport is expected to handle more than 1 million passengers in the next 11 days (August 12-22), with an average daily peak on weekends of 100,000 passengers.
The surge is due to the seasonal peak of families returning to the UAE at the end of the summer vacation and the results of recent changes in UAE travel regulations affecting several countries. The UAE has recently relaxed travel regulations for inbound and transit passengers from several Asian and African countries, including India, while the United Kingdom has upgraded the UAE to the “amber” list of countries and opened quarantine-free travel to certain categories of passengers.
“We are prepared and are doing everything we can to ensure that passengers have a safe and smooth experience at DXB. However, given the recent changes in travel requirements (which usually vary with the starting point and destination of the journey), passengers can follow some simple Rules and tips have a major impact on their airport experience,” said Essa Al Shamsi, Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airport.
“Considering that the number of passengers in the arrival area will increase significantly during this period, it is important that greeters and greeters are not crowded on the roads in the front yard of the terminal, and they use cars to comfortably pick up and park their friends and family when they arrive. Or valet parking service,” he added.
Considering that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, global travel requirements have changed in recent weeks and months, Dubai Airports strongly urges all customers to: – Always check with airlines for information on specific travel requirements for their journey.
– Confirm their flight arrival/departure terminal before arriving at the airport.
– Make sure they understand and meet the travel requirements of the country/region they are traveling to (including negative PCR test report before the start of the trip).
– Use the ample designated parking area or valet parking service at the airport to receive guests comfortably. Parking to pick up guests on the arrival front yard is a traffic violation and can cause congestion inside and outside the terminal.
– Ensure that they always wear protective masks and keep their distance at the airport.
– If you experience any symptoms of Covid-19, avoid traveling or visiting public places and seek medical advice.
– Before going to the airport, make sure their travel documents (passport and visa) are updated and valid.
– Say goodbye at home to avoid crowding in the front yard of the terminal.
Dubai Airport is working closely with its service and business partners, including 55 international airlines, more than 100 food and beverage and retail stores, and control and health departments to ensure the well-being and comfort of customers.
DXB is taking comprehensive measures to maintain the health, safety and well-being of customers and employees in its facilities. These measures include regular cleaning, promotion of the testing of incoming passengers and vaccinations of airport staff, signs of maintaining social distance, provision of hand sanitizer stations around the airport, use of protective plexiglass at check-in and immigration counters, and provision of personal Protective equipment and safety facilities for the disposal and treatment of biohazardous materials (PPE), and increase the level of disinfection in accordance with international standards set by relevant local and federal authorities.
