While we’re all eagerly awaiting the Disney+ reboot dark wing duck, comic book publisher Dynamite Entertainment is giving fans something to keep us going: a new story starring the masked mallard.Announced this week, Dynamite Entertainment will release a brand new dark wing duck Comic series, first issue debuts on January 4, 2023.
He is the terror that dances in the night…he is the beast of prey who pulls the evil eye out of the foul face. He is a dark-winged duck! At night, he vigilantly protects his city of San Canard from vile demons who use his signature clothing and gadgets to wage unbridled warfare and lurk in the shadows, in the shadows of the criminal underworld. The center evokes fear. By day he is known as the mild-mannered Drake Mallard, the father of his lovely adopted daughter Gosalyn. Can Darkwing manage to juggle his two different lives while looking incredibly cool and incredibly handsome at the same time? Readers will have to tune in on January 4 to find out!
The titular superhero’s latest adventure is written by Amanda Deibert.The senior writer has an extensive background spanning TV, animation and comics, including Netflix’s Seaman and the Master of the Universe, wonder woman, star wars, DC superhero girl.
“Darkwing Duck was huge when I was a kid and I’m excited to help introduce this fun, humorous and action-packed mystery to a new generation!” Debert said. “Let’s be dangerous!”
Joining Deibert is talented Italian artist Carlo Cid Lauro, who will color the collection himself. Jeff Eckleberry will handle the lettering.
Darkwing Duck #1 The first story will launch in January, subtitled “FOWL,” and will include a showdown between Darkwing and his vile nemesis, Megavolt. Quick synopsis teases:
He took everyone’s cell phone, a disastrous result for the citizens of San Canard. Along with some unexpected help from his allies Launchpad McQuack and Gosalyn, the squad will take on the Megavolt. But a recent venture has Mallard questioning the entire superhero business and considering retirement. How long can he go without justice?

The first issue will feature six different cover variants from talented industry veterans such as David Nakayama, Mirka Andolfo and Lesley “Leirix” Li.George Kambadais, for Dynamite Gargoyle The title, also jumps into the excitement with his own unique cover option.
Darkwing Duck #1 It will be released in January 2023 and will be available at local comic book retailers. Fans can also enjoy the series digitally through Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus and more.
This dark wing duck The animated series ran for three seasons from 1991 to 1992, with a total of 91 episodes. Disney+ is currently in development as a reboot.
