American producer lane 8 expanding his this never happened The event series goes to Australia, with three dates locked in for later this year. The festival without phones and photos will debut in Melbourne on Friday 14 July before heading to Sydney’s Metro Theater and Brisbane’s Brightside Outdoors.
The event – organized in conjunction with local promoters Untitled Group – will be headlined by US selectors Happy youthcanadian duo sultan and shepard and local producers Paris. See all dates and details below.

Lane 8 – also known as Daniel Goldstein – launched the concept This Never Happened back in 2016 (he toured australia that year under that tour). Goldstein also founded his eponymous label at the same time.
The event has since expanded and been staged multiple times around the world, with the aim of creating an undisturbed “connected immersive environment” on the dance floor. Participating punters will have their phone’s camera recorded.
