Egis acquires Middle East business of top construction firm U+A

Leading construction engineering group Aegis Group has fully acquired U+A’s Middle East operations to strengthen its design, architecture and design, build and operate capabilities.

U+A is an innovative multidisciplinary design practice that brings together expertise across disciplines, from architecture and interior design to master planning, landscape architecture and construction

supervision.

It has offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh, London and Montreal, and works on projects throughout the Middle East.

Egis said this strategic move will help to accelerate its strategic objective to provide end-to-end integrated solutions to design, build, operate and maintain assets for clients and provide an all-encompassing integrated solution.

“We are delighted to announce this strategic partnership, bringing U+A’s innovative architects and designers and their award-winning project portfolio to the Egis Group,” said Alaa AbuSiam, CEO of Egis Middle East.

“Combining U+A’s and Egis’ capabilities in the Middle East will allow us to leverage our collective knowledge and deliver a wider range of complementary services to our clients. U+A’s vision and business value is fully aligned with Egis’ Impact The Future for us The surrounding community provides the vision for an impactful, responsible project,” he noted.

U+A is joining Egis’ extensive portfolio of design and construction firms worldwide and will strengthen its position as a leader in architectural design, AbuSam said.

With this acquisition, the Egis Middle East team is expected to grow to more than 2,500 employees.

The deal is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in early 2023, he added.

Founded in 2006 by Pedram Rad and Martin Dufresne as founding partners, U+A has worked as lead consultant on notable projects in hospitality, education, entertainment, mixed-use, commercial and residential developments.

“Combining U+A’s team of architects, interior designers, landscape and construction supervisors with Egis and its architectural divisions – 10 Design, SB Architects, Weston Williamson + Partners – will create a strong, world-class creative team capable of Designing projects of all types throughout the MENA region,” commented U+A Partner Pedram Rad.

He added that U+A Management and the founding partners will remain with the company to help drive future growth.
