Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, met Maryam Khalifa Al-Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, within the framework of regular meetings with multilateral and bilateral development partners.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Mashat highlighted the close historical relationship between Egypt and the UAE, two brotherly countries characterized by privacy and diversity at the level of all priority areas over the past 50 years.
She also emphasized the importance of further developing and advancing the relationship, including more economic, commercial and investment cooperation, as well as enhanced cooperation through UAE financial institutions, whether Khalifa Enterprise Development, in line with the requirements and priorities of the development plans of the two countries Whether the Fund or the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, both are conducted in a manner that maximizes the benefits of mutual relationships and advances sustainable development efforts.
Furthermore, the Minister stated that based on the history and close relationship with these institutions, the State of Egypt values international cooperation and development financing relationships with multilateral and bilateral development partners, as well as international and regional financing organizations, which is reflected in advancing development efforts in various priority areas and promote growth.
Furthermore, she said that despite the challenges the world has experienced since 2020 due to the coronavirus crisis and its aftermath, as well as the development of the Russia-Ukraine war, the Egyptian economy is moving forward on the basis of economic reform plans to strengthen development efforts.
Al-Mashat was also keen to review the results of COP27 and the initiatives launched by Egypt during its presidency, noting the signing of financing cooperation agreements related to the implementation of the National Green Projects Platform, including from the 2050 National Climate Change Strategy.
For her part, Al-Kaabi praised Egypt’s organization and hosting of COP27, as well as the importance of cooperation between Egyptian and UAE leaders to consolidate the results achieved at the meeting in order to achieve more progress in the climate action document during the presidency The next edition of the UAE.
The ambassador also praised Egypt’s development efforts and the UAE’s willingness to actively move forward to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
