Eid al Adha: 20 Covid-19 frontline personnel from India arrive in the UAE on a special flight-News

Medical staff including doctors, nurses and paramedics arrived on two special flights of Arab Airlines.

After obtaining special approval from the UAE authorities, NMC Healthcare announced that medical staff including doctors, nurses and paramedics took off from Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram on two special Air Arabia flights-they were this morning Landed in Sharjah.

All 20 medical staff are members of the intensive care team at the NMC Royal Hospital in Sharjah.

This is the third batch of standard nursing staff and Covid frontline staff that the group has flown from India in the past month to help them resume work and support the UAE in fighting the pandemic.

India-Dubai flight: 95 medical staff arrived by special plane

In June, the NMC team took an 8-seater charter flight from Mumbai to send a group of intensive care personnel. These include cardiologists, intensive care doctors, intensive care and pulmonary specialists, who underwent mandatory isolation and testing in accordance with the national Covid guidelines upon arrival.

Dr. Sanjay Rajdev, an interventional cardiology consultant at NMC Specialty Hospital (Abu Dhabi), was one of the passengers on this special flight. He said: “I find myself very grateful to be able to return and save at least two lives. These are two acute For heart disease patients, I can perform surgery and save them.”

On another flight from India last week, NMC Healthcare staffed its hospital in Dubai with 49 employees, including 31 medical staff: NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Nahda and NMC Royal Hospital, DIP and NMC Day Surgery Center, Deira.

The organization said in a statement that these Covid fighters are currently undergoing mandatory quarantine and are expected to join soon.

NMC Healthcare added that in the next week or so, it plans to deploy more than 80 staff to its hospitals: NMC Specialty Hospitals in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, NMC Royal Hospital in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, and NMC ProVita International Medical Center, Bahrain International Hospital and NMC Clinic in Sharjah, etc.

These doctors, nurses and paramedics will fly through Cochin, Calicut, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Delhi, Coimbatore, Bangalore and Chennai with special regulatory approval.

Michael Brenden Davis, Chief Executive Officer of NMC Healthcare, said: “During these difficult times, staff want to come back to serve patients. Achieving this goal requires a lot of coordination and logistics, as well as gains. Regulatory approvals.

“We work with various regulatory agencies, and the ease and speed with which the two regulatory agencies, healthcare and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Agency (NCEMA) process approvals, is truly incredible.”

Suspension of flights from 16 countries

Since April this year, passengers from India and 15 other countries, including residents of the UAE, have been denied entry to the UAE.

On Sunday, the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) stated that travel restrictions were imposed on inbound passengers from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, the Democratic Republic of Congo, India, Indonesia, Liberia, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Uganda, Sierra Leone, and South Africa. Vietnam and Zambia will continue to remain until further notice.

However, with special approval from NCEMA, employees who belong to the basic functions of the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration classification are allowed to enter the UAE.

Thanks to this facility, healthcare groups such as Aster DM Healthcare and Zulekha Hospital are able to bring their employees stranded in India back to their homes and work in the UAE.
