Eid al-Adha: Pakistan repatriates 62 prisoners from Saudi Arabia by special plane-News

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that the government is committed to helping Pakistani prisoners abroad and assisting them in their repatriation.

The Prime Minister said on Twitter on Tuesday that according to his instructions, a special flight brought back 62 prisoners from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia before Pakistan’s Eid al-Adha.

“According to my instructions, the funds have been arranged. Today a special plane brought 62 prisoners back from Saudi Arabia so that they can spend Eid al-Fitr with their families. It is me to help Pakistanis in prisons abroad and assist them to return to Pakistan. The promise of our government to our people,” the prime minister wrote.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Executive Director of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Dr. Amer Sheikh and senior officials and the Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development Department (OPHRD) met with the released persons at Islamabad Airport.

The IIA arrival hall echoed the “Pakistan Jindabad” slogan for releasing prisoners and expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Saudi government for their efforts to help them return to their homes.

According to the OPF spokesperson-these prisoners detained in Riyadh for minor drug-related cases, according to the order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Saudi Arabian authorities exempted these prisoners from imprisonment sentences. .

The statement added that due to the unremitting efforts of the Pakistani delegation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, OPHRD and other parties, it was released.

The OPF spokesperson stated that according to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision, overseas Pakistanis are the top priority, adding that every effort is being made to provide the greatest degree of convenience to foreigners and their families.

He referred to the Pakistani diaspora as “roaming ambassadors”, which are national assets.
