Sarah Drew thinks Ellen Pompeo’s reduced role in new season of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ makes ‘reasonableness’
The 52-year-old actress plays Dr. Meredith Gray in the TV medical drama – but Sarah can understand why she’ll only appear in season 19 for eight episodes.
Sarah, 41 (who played Dr. April Kepner on the show) told Us Weekly: “She’s been in the role for a long time. It makes sense that she wants to take a breather and pursue other things — and Still keeping her feet in the door.”
Sarah also believes that the decision to cut back on the show was “great” for Ellen.
The actress said: “I think the pair [Ellen]. I wish her all the best. “
Ellen has previously spoken about her ambitions after Grey’s Anatomy.
The actress – who appeared mostly in movies before starring in hit TV shows – said: “I probably won’t be doing the movies themselves, but I’ll probably be doing some streaming TV.”
Allen also admitted to being surprised by the show’s longevity.
The TV star joined the medical drama in 2005, which she admits was an “incredible platform” for her.
Ellen – who has Stella, 13, Sienna, 8 and Eli, 5, and her husband Chris Avery – explained: “I never thought I would be in Been on the show for so long. It happened and here I am.
“It’s been an incredible platform for me to stay at home with my kids and not travel and enjoy the circus life of an actor.
“So I don’t think it’s the path less traveled, having been on TV for so many years, but it’s actually the path less traveled. So, it’s ironic.”
