Emerge and Miral celebrate the inauguration of Abu Dhabi’s largest rooftop solar project at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

The rooftop solar project has made Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi the largest solar-powered theme park in the region, installing some 16,000 solar modules across the theme park’s 36,000-square-meter rooftop area, meeting nearly 40 percent of its annual energy needs. The project agreement includes a complete turnkey solution for Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi rooftop solar, covering design, procurement, construction and operation and maintenance of the plant.

The project contributes to the UAE’s Energy Strategy 2050 goal, which aims to make renewable energy account for 44 percent of the country’s clean energy mix by 2050. According to a report, rooftop solar PV could provide around 6% of the UAE’s total electricity generation by 2030. Projections from the International Renewable Energy Agency in its REmap 2030 report on the UAE’s renewable energy outlook.

Emerge is also working with Miral to develop a rooftop solar photovoltaic system at Miral’s SeaWorld Abu Dhabi theme park, also on Yas Island, due to open this year. Under the agreement, Emerge will provide a complete turnkey solution, including design, procurement and construction, as well as operation and maintenance services.
