Thankfully her experience wasn’t tainted by the horrific moment she spent with the Marvel Universe’s longest-serving star, Samuel Jackson.
“I almost knocked him over,” Clark, 36, told us at a press conference in Los Angeles. Secret Invasionshe joins with co-stars Ben Mendelsohn. (Clark stars as Skrull Gia, the daughter of Mendelsohn’s Talos, both of whom help Jackson’s Nick Fury in the fight against their fellow shape-shifting aliens planning a hostile takeover of Earth.)
“They put me in a Lada, which is like a very old Russian car,” Clark continued. “I went in and thought, ‘Hey, what happened to those six guys? [shift knobs] it’s here? Which one am I using? Why does it have 10 pedals?it is [like] Tractors… I know how to drive. I know how to drive a stick. [But there wasn’t] enough time. They said, ‘We have to go. We are filming. come on dear. go. we are leaving.
“So I thought, ‘Okay, I can do it. It’s just one stop. Get in there. We’ll do our best. The camera’s right there. Sam’s right there. I pressed the wrong one, I stepped on the The gas pedal, not the brakes.”
Thankfully, Clark was quick to hit the brake pedal, thereby saving international treasure Samuel L. Jackson’s livelihood.
“He was very gentlemanly, sweet and friendly,” she said.
As for Clark?
“Then I cried for a while and someone helped me drive.”
