Emirates is expanding its flight schedule this week with 38 extra flights across six cities in the GCC and the Middle East to meet the huge demand for Eid holiday travel.
This year, more than 110,000 travelers are expected to travel across the region on Emirates flights during Eid, with additional flights planned for Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Medina, Kuwait and Beirut.
In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Emirates will add four additional flights to and from Riyadh between 19 and 29 April to cater to Saudi tourists looking to venture out to Dubai and beyond. In Jeddah, the airline will operate three A380s per day and will add an additional six flights operated by its Boeing 777s to serve the peak tourist holiday period from April 20-25 from the city.
From 20 April to 31 May, Emirates will add 18 to 21 additional flights to Dammam per week, with additional flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, connecting travelers to their favorite holiday destination . Passengers from Medina have the option to add 16 additional flights in April to accommodate those arriving for Hajj, as well as those wishing to start their holidays earlier.
This year, Emirates customers in Saudi Arabia will travel to Dubai to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, in addition to the Maldives, London, Phuket, Mauritius, Manila and Paris.
In Kuwait, Emirates will operate eight additional flights for Eid from 20-27 April using its Boeing 777s. Popular destinations for tourists from Kuwait this year include Dubai, Maldives, Phuket, Bangkok, London, Mauritius and Milan.
Emirates will add an additional flight to the airline’s existing Beirut schedule on April 23 to accommodate more travelers returning home to visit family and friends.
In keeping with the Eid tradition and maintaining its proud Middle Eastern heritage, the airline will be serving a special Eid menu for customers flying from Dubai between 21 and 24 April. The most popular chicken mandi, mansaf, samka harra, samak matfi, madfoon and Gulf style braised lamb will be served on board, along with other more delicious dishes.
All Emirates passengers transiting through Dubai and traveling onwards during this period will be treated to delicious pastries and desserts such as hot date pudding in First Class, fluffy vanilla sponge cake with white chocolate and hibiscus cream in Business and Premium Economy Class, and Batheetha – saffron date crumble or sweet pumpkin Asseda in economy class, topped with roasted cashews. All passengers will also receive an additional ashta sfouf morsel with their meal, wishing them Eid Mubarak.
Passengers entering the Emirates First Class Lounge on the first day of Eid will be served Arabic coffee, traditional jallab and kamarrudin juices, mezze, lamb or Emirati ouzi, followed by local favorites kunafa and baklava ice cream. Special Eid mocktails will also be available in First and Business Class lounges. During this period, the Business Class lounge will also offer special Eid dishes and desserts. – trade arab news agency
