Emirates and Air Canada expand loyalty partnership

Emirates and Air Canada have extended their partnership to offer frequent flyer members joint loyalty program benefits.

Emirates Skywards members can now earn and redeem miles on all Air Canada-operated flights – accessing a network of more than 220 destinations around the world. Aeroplan members can also earn and redeem points on all Emirates-operated flights to more than 130 destinations on six continents via Emirates’ headquarters and hub in Dubai.

The agreement was signed at Emirates Group Headquarters in Dubai by Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Senior Vice President, Emirates Skywards Division, and Mark Youssef Nasr, Air Canada Senior Vice President, Product, Marketing, E-Commerce and President, Aeroplan.

Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher commented: “We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Air Canada and officially launch our joint loyalty program. Nearly 40 million frequent flyer members will be able to earn and redeem miles through a joint program for more than A network of 350 destinations and select benefits such as lounge access. We look forward to opening up new horizons for our loyal members and welcoming Aeroplan passengers to Emirates with our award-winning products and exceptional service.”

More travel options, more Miles
The new agreement will enable Emirates Skywards members to earn miles on all eligible Air Canada flights. Skywards members can also redeem miles for award tickets across the Air Canada network. Flight awards will start at 8,000 miles for economy class one-way award tickets and 16,000 miles for business class one-way award tickets. For more details, visit emirates.com.

Aeroplan members will be able to earn Aeroplan Points on all eligible Emirates-operated flights and redeem Aeroplan Points on Emirates flights, depending on the fare type purchased. For more information, visit aircanada.com.

Aeroplan members will be able to redeem points for Emirates Economy and Business Class flights with a minimum of 15,000 points one way, no carrier surcharges and the ability to combine on one ticket with Aeroplan’s extensive network of airline partners, creating countless rewards possibility. The ability to redeem Aeroplan Points for Emirates First Class flights will be available in early 2023.

Premium lounge access
Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members flying Air Canada or Emirates Economy Class also receive complimentary access to Air Canada’s Maple Leaf Lounge and the Air Canada Café in Toronto’s Pearson with one guest.

In Dubai, Aeroplan Elite 50K, 75K and Super Elite members traveling in Emirates Economy Class receive complimentary access to the Emirates Business Class lounge with one passenger.

Access to North America, Asia, Middle East and Africa
Earlier this year, the two airlines launched a codeshare partnership to provide customers with seamless connections across North America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Emirates customers can now book flights to and from Canadian locations outside of Toronto, including Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver.

Air Canada customers also enjoy seamless access to Emirates’ extensive network via Dubai, unlocking a host of destinations including Colombo, Dhaka, Karachi and Lahore in the Indian subcontinent, as well as Bangkok, Hanoi, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore; the Middle Eastern cities of Jeddah and Muscat; and African destinations, namely Addis Ababa and Dar es Salaam. – trade arab news agency
