Emirates and Airlink announced the expansion of their existing partnership into a unilateral code-sharing agreement, allowing travelers to and from South Africa to easily travel to more than 40 domestic and regional destinations in 12 African countries.
The extended code sharing provides Emirates customers with connectivity that no other airline in Africa provides, and strengthens the long-term partnership between Emirates and South African Airways.
The move comes as Emirates resumes flights to South Africa and strengthens operations to provide customers with enhanced connectivity through its gateways Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. The connection provided by the new codeshare between Emirates and Airlink will provide competitive fares, joint ticketing and seamless baggage transfer when connecting between the two airlines.
