Heading into Latin America, Abu Dhabi-based Edge will showcase its technologically advanced defense products and solutions at LAAD Defense and Security 2023 (LAAD) in Brazil.
State-owned defense group Edge will showcase its diverse product portfolio, with a clear focus on autonomous systems, smart weapons and electronic warfare. During the biennial event, the group will highlight its huge export potential and explore new commercial and security partnerships.
LAAD, the largest and most important defense and security trade show in Latin America, will be held in Rio de Janeiro from April 11th to 14th. The event follows Edge’s successful participation in the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (Idex 2023) in Abu Dhabi, where it announced major sales contracts worth $5 billion — of which more than $1.1 billion was international export deals — — and where it launched 14 new products, 11 of which are groundbreaking autonomous and driverless products and solutions.
“Edge’s participation in LAAD 2023 allows us to showcase our advanced capabilities in the air, land, sea and cyber domains, which clearly demonstrates the importance of Edge in the Brazilian market and other key markets in Latin America,” said Mansour Edge, Managing Director and Chief executive AlMulla said.
“Our aim is to build on the valuable partnerships we have established with some of the key players in the region, forge new partnerships, expand our presence through exports, through the development of local supply chains, and assist in the development of defense across the continent ability”
Edge’s 10 portfolio companies will showcase approximately 50 advanced solutions and products spanning the areas of autonomous air and land systems, naval systems, precision-guided munitions, small arms and ammunition, and electronic warfare.
Some of these products include the Hunter SP (Soldier Portable) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), the QX-1, QX-2, QX-3 family of loitering munitions, the multi-range Thunder and Desert Sting air-to-ground precision-guided munitions, Sky and Night Anti-aircraft missiles and GNSS anti-jamming systems, etc.
Launched with the institutional support of the Brazilian Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Justice and the Brazilian Public Security Agency, LAAD brings together international manufacturers and suppliers of defense and technology solutions for the Armed Forces, Special Forces, Law Enforcement Security industry, government agencies, large corporations, and senior executives responsible for critical infrastructure.
