Emirates’ flagship A380 achieved a milestone when it completed a landmark landing at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on 1 June and became the first-ever scheduled A380 flight to Indonesia.
Emirates flight EK368 departs Dubai at 03:10 and arrives in Bali at 16:20. Return flight EK369 will depart Bali at 19:40 and arrive in Dubai at 00:45. All times are local time.
The world’s largest airliner landed smoothly to the cheers and excitement of passengers and spectators, accompanied by a spectacular water cannon salute.

Handy Heryudhitiawan, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, said: “The Ministry of Transport, in cooperation with Angkasa Pura I and the Emirates team, inspected the airside and landside facilities at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali to ensure that it is compliant to serve the Airbus A380. Flight requirements.We have prepared a garbarata or aviobridge with two trunks to allow passengers to get on and off the plane between the aircraft and the airport terminal, and we have also facilitated specific parking arrangements around the Airbus A380.
“Through our frequent joint coordination meetings with key stakeholders including the Airport Authority, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Air Base, ground handling and other stakeholders at the airport, we will ensure that A380 operations continue to run smoothly.”
Emirates’ inaugural A380 flight to Bali will be operated by a three-class aircraft, allowing passengers, VIP delegations and airport officials to get a closer look at the double-decker’s unique offerings, including the award-winning First Class suite. The airline will continue its A380 operations in Bali with a two-class A380 offering 58 lie-flat seats in business class and 557 seats in economy class.
Emirates launched a daily non-stop service from Dubai to Bali in 2015, adding to its regular service to Jakarta which began in 1992. The airline currently serves Indonesia with 28 weekly flights to Bali and Jakarta, and offers additional connections to an additional 29 domestic cities through the two gateways through partnership agreements with Garuda Indonesia and Batik Air.
Passengers from Indonesia can look forward to the A380’s spacious and comfortable cabin, signature products that provide passengers with the best in-flight experience such as the in-flight lounge, and an award-winning inflight entertainment system that includes more than 6,500 on-demand entertainment channels. The Emirates A380 is currently deployed to 46 destinations, including Dubai, with the potential to expand to nearly 50 destinations by the end of the summer. – trade arab news agency
